Happy Friday Eve Friends,
Please allow me to introduce you Amanda, the blogger behind South of Yankee. Amanda launched her site after a brief move from the Chicago to the charming world of Charleston and back again. Now she spends her days working in Human Resources and the evenings sharing all things food, fun, and fashion.
SOY: I would say that my style is a mix between classic and trendy. I am all about trying new styles but know when something just does not work on me. It is important to create a classic wardrobe staple for a go-to look. My style of choice is a classic blazer, structured cropped pant and neutral heels.
WCW: Do you have any tips for style when relying on transit?
SOY: It’s all about the material! Try and stick to a material that is stain resistant (travel can get messy!). I love using a nylon fabric bag and jelly travel flats to get to and from. Both of these are easy to clean and work well in any weather.
SOY: Faux Fur! I love the luxe look that this addition brings to any outfit. Vest, hat, or scarf, a little fur elevates any winter look.
WCW: If I peeked in your closet, what brands or designs would I see repeat?
SOY: I am a big fan of…Loft, J.Crew, Tory Burch & Henri Bendel!
WCW: Any tips for surviving Chicago winters while remaining stylish?
SOY: Invest in an evening coat! Staying warm in your everyday parka is great but when it comes to a night out don’t sacrifice style. A tailored wool coat is polished and perfect for a night out or your 9-5.
SOY: I keep my work look polished and functional by mixing structured and comfortable pieces such as a pencil skirt with a cozy winter sweater.
WCW: Name your favorite place to shop online and in store.
SOY: Nordstrom! I can get everything I need all in one place and the service is always amazing!
WCW: What’s in your purse?
SOY: Once I dig through the daily clutter, my purse usually consists of my wallet , ample lip-balm, a snack and headphones for my daily commute!
