Happy Hump Day Friends!
Please allow me to introduce you to Suzanne, the blogger behind My Kind of Sweet. For almost a decade, Suzanne worked in the fashion industry but has recently transitioned into full time motherhood. Take a look at how she balances individual style with her new career duties.
WCW: How would you describe your personal style?
Now that I’m a mama, my personal style has definitely evolved. I need to be comfortable so I can chase after my baby girl, but I still want to look put together. For this fall/winter, I’ve been loving Zella leggings and oversized sweaters.
WCW: If I peeked in your closet, what brands or designs would I see repeat?
Suzanne: I love love J Crew Factory. I’m highly allergic to paying full price (I blame working in retail management for years!). J Crew Factory provides the style and quality of J Crew at a fraction of the price. For denim, I love 7 for All Mankind and Rag and Bone. I love REISS sweaters and blouses – they are so pretty and ladylike. My weakness is handbags – right now my favorites in my closet are Chloe and Balenciaga.
WCW: What’s your favorite accessory?
Suzanne: My baby girl! Of course 🙂 But if we’re talking about something that can be purchased, I have to go with my engagement and wedding ring. I wear it every day without fail, even if I’m staying home and in my sweatpants. I just love it.
WCW: Any tips for surviving Chicago winters while remaining stylish?
You can definitely still look stylish while surviving the Chicago winters! A fitted, flattering coat is a must. There are a lot of great options – you don’t have to rely on the boring black puffer coat. Anything belted is always a good choice. Beanies are super cozy and cute. And don’t get me started on how adorable snow boots are now! You can’t go wrong with a good pair of Sorel boots.
WCW: What’s in your purse?
Suzanne: I have WAY too many things in my purse right now! I’ve been using my LV tote so I can throw baby girl’s and my things in there. Diapers, wipes, my favorite Chanel wayfarers, some goldfish crackers, Lipsmacker Butter Brickle chapstick (it gives your lips a little shine that’s so pretty – and it tastes good!), mini York Peppermint Patties and my Prada wallet.
WCW: Name your favorite place to shop online and in store.
Suzanne: My favorite places to shop online are J Crew Factory and Nordstrom. They’re reliable and returns are easy. In store? I’d have to go with Nordstrom again. Their selection is the best, as far as department stores. Bloomingdale’s is good too – I love their REISS department downtown.
As always thank you for reading, commenting, and liking!
P.S. Don’t forget to stop by my kind of sweet to visit Suzanne.
