A Shopaholic Was Born

One Saturday like many others Nanny (grandmother) took me shopping, but this time I feel different. On this particular day so many dresses caught my eye and one by one each fits as if it were custom made.  I’ve never felt such luxurious materials against my skin. I usually tend to pick out pants, shorts or overalls. But today I have my hands filled with velvet, lace, and other materials I can’t quite identify. As I begin to put them back on the rack Nanny inquires if I like them. I reply, “Yes, I love them but where would I go in these?” She said, “If you love them, get them and wear them anywhere.” So I did. I wore them to banquets, church, school and that very same year I wore one to her funeral. Sixteen years later I still shop with that same mentality.

As always thank you for reading, commenting, and liking!
