With out further ado, I give you the very talented Wonder Woman of the week, Emileigh Rogers! She graduated from university with a BA in International Multicultural Studies, and now works in a publishing department. On her own time she’s a vintage fashion and lifestyle blogger. Somehow she manages to do all this while knitting, sewing and maintaining close relationships with family as she settles into her new life as a wife. Emileigh is a little lady with a big world view due to her unique experience of having both lived in western & eastern culture.
How did you choose the name for your blog?
It started out with the first summer I decided to wear vintage clothes. I started my blog to document that journey, and the name Flashback Summer described that well, so I picked it!

How did you become aware of your entrepreneurial spirit?
I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was a kid. My dad is an entrepreneur, so we were always given lots of financial and business lessons. I started lots of businesses as a kid (sold crafts out of a briefcase to other kids, a dog walking service, duct tape accessories, all sorts of ideas!)
Name your favorite place to shop online and in store.
My favorite place to shop online is Etsy. I love the ability to have both vintage AND handmade all in the same place!
Name 3 things on your bucket-list.
Visit every populated continent, work in a career I love, and make a couture dress I’m really proud of.
Describe your best practices for organization and balance.
I have just learned to give myself time when I face life transitions and learn to prioritize. I can’t do everything well all the time, so I choose the things that are most important to me and focus on those. Often when I have those down, I can add more. Creating a balanced, organized life is about building on the things I learn over time, not a magical chart system that works overnight!
What’s your favorite movie or television show?
My favorite movies are Gladiator and Jane Eyre. It’s a wide spectrum.
I had the privilege of meeting Emileigh at the 2015 Go Blog Social Conference. She was knee deep in conversation when I caught a glimpse of her and before introducing myself I interrupted and immediately began a photo shoot. The photographer in me just took over but eventually I introduced myself and was just as enamored with her conversation and personality as her style. Then she completely won me over and made a fan and follower out of me with these captivating moo business cards!
Tell us about your favorite vacation or adventure.
I loved exploring Wales for a study trip. The land is gorgeous, and the abundance of tea was perfection! It was amazing to see so much history.
What business books do you recommend?
I love the book Tribal Leadership. It’s full of really good, practical advice for communicating your vision, gauging the culture of your office, and how to improve it.
What books do you recommend for leisure?
Jane Eyre is great. It’s my favorite movie AND favorite book!
What’s your favorite quote?
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” – from Proverbs 31 (in the Bible)
